Hi there. My name is Kev and some 40 years ago, I was born.
What do I do? A question I find I am asking myself more and more these days. I enjoy technology, science and creativity. I am a self-taught web designer. I prefer the backend and I am definitely not a designer. I like data, logic and all things that would make me a geek. There’s no escaping that, so I tend to embrace it instead.
Create websites for my own projects, most of which start as Ideas (and stay that way). Currently 12 individual websites for different things (check them out on the homepage of this site). Play games solo and with friends & capture (then spend way too much time editing them for a very small audience). Write.. I love to write. [just not about myself]! So I have multiple blogs on different topics which have been setup and established for a while and in the pipeline are a few more.
I am a Graduate with a Media Technology Specialist BSc (Hons) Degree with previous qualifications in Media Studies and Business Studies. I’ve just completed a Level 3 Diploma in Digital Skills which has got me back into the mode for learning & further study… more soon.
Well first of all, this isn’t a CV or an advertisement for myself in any Professional capacity, but with that said I’ve taught myself several different software packages over the years including Adobe products such as Premiere Pro & Media Encoder, Photoshop and After Effects. Microsoft Office and 3D Slicer software such as Ultimaker’s Cura. I am constantly looking to try new software and enjoy finding the limits of something new, and adapting it to my needs.
In terms of web design, I’ve become quite sufficient when it comes to WordPress. As a platform I love the way it works. – But that said, as a geek, I can happily spend a weekend looking at alternatives, trying things out etc but 10 out of 10 times I will still come back home to WordPress.
Me… apparently. Combined with some of my favorite parts of London. What? You didn’t expect a simple profile picture did you?
I personally dislike the whole ‘must have an about page’ or the ‘must have a contact page’ meta that most websites are following these days, but I understand why it exists. But it might just be more because I don’t like writing about myself. So instead, lets talk about some of my interests and activities.
Just me. Just a guy who’s somehow hit 40 years old and discovered a renewed focus to start getting things in this life together.
